Boom
We did it. With the sale of two limited edition 2009 albums today the $1,000 target had been reached 28 days into the project. I say we because you and I did this together. This blog would not have grown without the support of everyone out there in the blogosphere who linked to it, blogged about it and generally threw handfuls of publicity at it over the last 28 days.
The success of this project proves two things. Firstly that blogging can turn a dream into a viable business. And secondly, that selling independent music online is simple a case of correctly engaging an audience.
One thing is for sure. The traditional music sales model is over. Blogging is, without a doubt, the future of the independent music business.
Congrats, Ashley! You’ve found a creative way to fund your project, and it’s inspiring and comforting to see it working! Keep it up.
Jason
Congratulations!
I agree, the traditional music promotion is over. If you want your music out to the audience, you should you se the internet and social medias like blogging, facebook, myspace, twitter and so on.
